Independent Study Agreements
If you know your child will be absent ahead of time (medical appointment, special family event, extended illness, etc.), contact the office and/or your child’s teacher to request an “Independent Study Agreement.” This agreement is mutually beneficial for your child and LdVCS. Your child receives assignments ahead of time for when he/she is absent. The child completes the assignments when he/she is absent and brings them with him/her to school upon returning. LdVCS then RECEIVES FUNDING for the absence. It’s a win-win for your child and the school!
Steps to Initiate an Independent Study Agreement
1. Download and complete this form*: LEONARDO DA VINCI HEALTH SCIENCES CHARTER SCHOOL (LdVCS) MASTER AGREEMENT FOR INDEPENDENT STUDY
2. Email the completed form to your child's teacher to let her know you will need an Independent Study Agreement for your child(ren) BEFORE the absence.
3. Download the assignments by your child(ren)'s grade level*:
4. Have your child complete the assignments.
5. Bring completed assignments to school when your child returns to school.
